April 18th., 2007 Bowl for kid's sake
What is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?
Bowl for Kids' Sake is about having fun to help kids. It
is a fundraising event. Funds raised go directly toward
matching children with carefully-screened, caring Big
Brother and Big Sister volunteers.
You can be a sponsor, a bowler,
or both!
If you are a donor, know that your support is helping put
Big Brothers and Big Sisters in children's lives, right
here in your community. If you are a bowler, enjoy a fun
outing with friends — as well as the satisfaction of
knowing you're making a big difference to kids right here
in your community.

April 17th., 2007
Lansing to host the National Youth License.
The National Youth License, a U.S. Soccer
course, focuses upon the nature of children and the adjustments adults
must make to coach them. The course curriculum covers the ages of 4-12
years old. Each day of the course, the focus is upon one of the
traditional soccer age groups of U6, U8, U10 or U12. Each day, children
of the appropriate age group are brought to the course site for the
candidates to work with them in a practice training session. The
candidates are videotaped while coaching the kids and the video is
reviewed with each candidate to aid in the education of the coach. The
course combines both classroom (theory) and field (practical) sessions.
The course concludes with written, oral and practical examinations. The
National Youth License course is six days in length, sometimes being
held over two weekends rather than 6 days in a row. It is ideal for
anyone hoping to become a better and more effective coach.

course.

17th, 2006 What ever happen to
"street soccer"?
In the United States, kids do not play "street soccer"
as often as they do in South America, Europe, or Africa. I
grew up playing on the street. What does that mean for our
kids now days? Read a piece on the subject. It was
published in
http://ussoccerplayers.com . Hope you find it
interesting.

10th, 2006 Chris Colligan
Memorial Golf Outing
A Golf Outing will be held at Eldorado Golf Course in
Mason on October 15, 2006, as a Memorial for Chris
Colligan, with the purpose of raising money for his wife
and daughters..
As you are most likely all aware, Chris was killed in
an accident when he stopped to help someone. Those of us
who knew Chris have no problem picturing him stopping to
help someone without even giving it a second thought. He
was a great guy and leaves behind a wife and four
daughters.
Many of you in the soccer community have encountered Chris
as either a player in the Indoor Men's League at Soccer
Zone and/or as an Assistant Coach to the U-13 Girls' Mason
Blast Team as well as coaching Indoor Teams for U-10
through U-13 Girls and 4 v 4 tournaments in the summer.
If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Dippel at
